Why Is There a Minimum?

Custom pins, coins, and medals are manufactured using die-struck metal processes. Each order requires a custom steel mold (called a "die") to be created specifically for your design. This mold is a one-time investment that enables the striking process — it's what gives every piece its precise raised-and-recessed detail.

Because the mold creation is a fixed upfront cost regardless of quantity, ordering at or above the minimum keeps the per-unit price reasonable. The more you order, the lower the cost per piece.

What About Reorders?

Once your mold has been created, reorders are straightforward and don't require a new mold. This means future runs can sometimes be done at lower quantities or better pricing, since the tooling already exists.

Can I Order More Than the Minimum?

Absolutely — there's no maximum order size. We regularly fulfill orders ranging from 100 pieces to tens of thousands. Larger quantities benefit from volume pricing, so your per-unit cost decreases as quantity goes up.
